FOODAMN PHILIPPINES : WHO WE ARE

Tarlac: Nay's House [May 2011]

This is the second time we dine-in here at the cozy-homey interior of Nay's House in Tarlac City. An old house turned into a famous Kapampangan home-cooked dishes by the family of Catalina Panlilio Baron or fondly known as Imang Ninay.
Nay's House is a 3-storey colonial modern house, used to be a home for local radio station. The family retained the house's old structures and refurbished with nostalgic chairs & tabled with bright hues of linens. The house's exterior is painted red, white & cream. The old Capiz-shell window was replaced with stained glasses with flowering vines along the facade.

The three Panlilio sisters were dubbed as the kitchen divas and rest of the Panlilio family were among the formidable food connoisseur, in 1950's they put up Casa Alejandro in Makati, a classy Spanish restaurant.
Nay's House accommodates 80 to 100 diners from different places, mostly travelers and draws attention through word of mouth, during the beginning operation of the restaurant, the management has no advertisement at all. Until now you would have mistaken the restaurant as a typical Filipino ancestral home. The restaurant's signage is handwritten in yellow paint over a hanging wooden board alongside the property.
