Braised Dim Sum Chicken Feet Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 500g chicken feet, cleaned and trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, sliced
  • 2-3 dried chili peppers
  • bay leaf (optional)
  • 1 cup water

Instructions:
  1. Clean and trim the chicken feet by removing the outer layer of skin and any nails that may be present. Rinse them thoroughly and pat dry with a paper towel.
  2. In a wok or large saucepan, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic, ginger, and dried chili peppers, and stir-fry for a few seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the chicken feet to the wok and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they start to turn golden brown.
  4. Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, salt, and five-spice powder to the wok. Mix well to coat the chicken feet evenly.
  5. Add the water to the wok, cover with a lid, and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 45-50 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Once the chicken feet are tender and the sauce has thickened, turn off the heat and let them cool for a few minutes.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with some chopped scallions or cilantro.

Tips:
  • You can add some sliced mushrooms or bamboo shoots to the dish to enhance its flavor.
  • If you want a spicier version, you can increase the number of dried chili peppers or add some Sichuan peppercorns.
  • You can also add some vinegar or lemon juice to balance out the sweetness of the dish.
